Hi FLB -
Actually, no, it's not an aggregate. It's just that for the data in that particular fact, that client role is not applicable. So, it's still at the same level of granularity. It's a complexity of our data.
You wouldn't happen to know the Technote # offhand, would you?

We recently upgraded our development environment from 7.1.3 to 7.2.2
and we are experiencing drastic changes to the way security filters
are applied.
The way it worked in 7.1.3 the security filter was applied to any
tables that were part of the information we were trying to obtain
from our...
I was wondering if anyone has had to implement a temporary
restriction to a particular project from users. For example, when you
need to bring down one project for maintenance, but want to leave the
rest of the projects accessible to users. Is there a best practice
for this? Is there any...
Hi nlim!
I think I follow what you are saying, but I am a little confused on the "key2attime1 lookup = table a, idexpress = specificcolumnkey2attime1" attribute. Do you mean that we should create a second ID form expression on that same attribute? If so, does that one point to table b?
Hi nlim -
Thanks for your help. We're still having trouble setting this up. But I think the issue is more the relationships between the attributes than the actual transformation itself. Originally, we tried to do this using a formula transformation. The problem was that the SQL MSTR generated...
We have several tables that are quite large (over 100 columns). Does anyone know if Informatica has a limitation on number of columns? Or is this totally just dependent on the database being connected to?
Thanks!
If you need multiple records back, I would recommend creating a second SQL query transform that selects the columns you would have selected from your key lookup and doing a join between the two queries (make sure you select merge key columns if you don't want multiple columns with keys). This...
We have a strange situation where we have a fact (table a) that contains a subset of data that is derived from another fact table (table b). We are trying to do a report that allows us to bring in certain dimensions (tables c through n) where the keys only exist in table "b". table...
Additional note. We tried building a transformation to accomplish this and the transformation isn't working either. I don't see where the formula is being applied in the SQL mstr is generating. The formula we built is year_key - 1. But it is still bringing in all years. Has anyone used...
Can anyone give me some tips on how best to structure microstrategy reports to compare year over year metrics? We tried to create underlying prompted filters used in a metric to allow the user to select the current year and month values because if we put the filter in the report itself, it...
Never mind. I figured it out. It was the wrong field command. Instead of {= Bookmark} it should have been {REF Bookmark}. Everything seems to be working now.
I am trying to create template documents that have fields in them where we can enter certain text, such as a Client Name, and have these used throughout the document where necessary, without requiring our staff to retype names a million times. I have already created a .dot file and have been...
