After loading the IBM Director Agent 4.2 on two IBM X345 servers, a process called PegasusProviderAdaptor is now using 25% of the cpu at all times. It will not let me kill the process. Anyone experiencing this problem? Thanks for any info on this problem.
Thanks for the tip Arcagent. This worked. We have used Arcserve for years and currently backup and restore over 100 servers. I have never seen this before. Not even once. Do you know why this fixed the problem? By setting this regsitry entry to 0 does Arcserve switch to sync I/O mode? Thanks again.
I am having the same problems. I have updated the bios/firmware on my server and tape drives. I have also loaded sp1 for Arcserve 11.1 I have also tried several different tapes drives and servers and have still not found a fix. Don't bother calling CA, their tech support seems to be pretty...
We are recieving the following errors while trying to restore files from a file server. We have loaded sp1 for Arcserve v11.1 and updated the firmware on our servers and tape drives. We have also tried 3-4 different tape drives and 3-4 different servers. I don't think the problem is related to...
I have used the tapetest command to erase tapes at the beggining of my backup jobs for years with Arcserve 6.5,6.61 & 2000 without any problems. I have recently upgraded a few of my servers to Arcserve V9. I cannot get this command to work with V9. It works it I go to a command prompt and type...
I submitted the job and it created the media pools just as DavidMichel said, but they are empty. Do you have to do something else to have them come up with all the media they actually contain? Thanks
I am planning on replacing our largest file server. The existing server has Arcserve 6.61 with a two tape library. The jobs are setup using media pools and a GFS rotation. How do I recover all these settings. I created a test enviroment and the only thing I get when I do a DB recovery is the...
My machine is a Dell PowerEdge 6450, 4x cpus, 4gb ram, ton of drive space with Arcserve 2000. The backups seem to run fine. No errors anywhere, but when you go to do a restore sometimes part of the drive structure is missing, even though the backup logs said everything is fine. I have tried...
I was told you have to have a client agent/license for ever machine you wish to backup when using Arcserve version 9. Is this true? I know Arcserve 6.61 and 2000 had client agents, but you did not have to have them to run backups on remote machines. Thanks for any help.
I have several Dell servers with Dell Powervault 122t LTO Tape Libraries. After loading Arcserve 2000 and running some backup tests my backup speed was barely over 100mb per minute. I then loaded the latest Adaptec scsi driver(version 6.0.4000.105) and my backup speed jumped to 1.8gb per minute...
I have a Dell Poweredge 6650 with 4 1.6ghz processors, 4gb of ram running windows 2000 and arcserve 2000. I have a Dell Powervault 122t LTO autoloader that is only getting about 100mb/min. Any idea why my backup speed is so slow? The processors, memory, and hard drives are practically asleep...
I have my master server setup using a Dell Powervault 136T fiber attached tape library. The master server is up and running backups fine. I have loaded the media server software and the shared storage option on another server that I plan to attach and share the PV-136T.During the device config...
The PV-136T library I am using only has 2 drives in it and I am only using 1 of them for my testing. I agree, there is something definetly wrong. The machine I am using as my media server is a PIII with 128mb of ram. I am not sure if that would have any effect on the speed. Where does most of...
I am using NB 4.5 datacenter with a Dell PowerVault 136t fiber attached library in a SAN enviorment. This library is using LTO tape drives. I am only in the testing phase right now and admittedly don't know much about NB. The first few backups I ran only got about 500mb per minute backup speed...
Have you checked the log setting of the system log? By default these logs only have a small amount of space to write to. Once the log file has grown to that size it cannot be written to until you clear the log or you change the log setting to give it more disk space or set it to overwrite as...
If NT successfully found the processor after reseating it, I would take the processor out, use a can of air and spray out all the dust in the server, then depending on if the processor is a cartridge type you can take a pencil eraser and clean the contacts. If it is not a cartridge style use the...
I have reloaded the driver from a canon cd many times, but this does not seem to help. Considering the complete rebuild of the printer server did not stop the problems I don't think the root of the problem is at the server. It may have started there initaially, but it seems the desktops might be...
Well bigassgeeks's way of doing it sounds great, but getting something like this in place can take forever in some companies. We do pretty much the same thing that you said. I am going to recommend to our company and you to take Joe Users's manager approval and forward it to the manager of the...
Here recently we have had a wave of pc's getting bluescreens when printing to or just trying to connect to Canon Imagerunner printer/copiers. One evening we made a few changes to the paper tray setting on some of our Canon printers. The next morning we started getting the bluescreens. This is...
The server already has Raid, but for DR testing we pretend out building completely burnt down and all we have to work with is offsite backup tapes. I am looking for the config files that hold the actual jobs. Thanks
