Trying to use a previously owned switch
Try a newer IOS down loaded from the Cisco site. See if that fixes the problem before you chuck the switch. -

If I am understanding you correctly, you have a switch stuck in ROMMON mode and you reset the switch. Looks like you might have blown away the CAT OS. If so, you will need to do an "Xmodem" procedure to copy the OS back to the switch. If you have to do this, then go to the Cisco site and down... -
