    RECOMMEND FIREWALL

    I've seen responses here based on the cost of the Personal FW software. How about opinions based on functional criteria? Anyone?

    Error {Lost Delayed-Write Data}

    Are you in a MS Clustering environment? Have you taken a cluster offline, and moved to another node? No. Apparently I didn't make that part clear. This is just Win2K Pro (SP2) on a Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop.

    Error {Lost Delayed-Write Data}

    According to Microsoft - installing Service Pack 2 to your Windows 2000 machine should take care of it. This was happening after I was already running SP2. Just for fun, I even re-installed SP2. No change. :(

    Wireless neworking without a WAP?

    But, you do NOT have to use a WAP. Get two 802.11b NICS (be they PCMCIA or PCI) and let one be a gateway. Cybercop23 was incorrect.

    Wireless neworking without a WAP?

    You can use peer-to-peer with 802.11b. Just set up one of the boxes to be a router for the other. Remember, 802.11b is just wireless ethernet. Treat it the same as you would standard ethernet when it comes to layer 3.

    NIC "Teaming"?

    Is there a way to do NIC Teaming in Win2K? I have a wireless card an my laptop and would like to be able to team that with the dock's NIC.
