I have written a few ActiveX EXE components in VB6 and I am looking for the VB.NET equivalent. I went to the MS website and they tell me it is a class library in .NET. So I created a class library but can only see the option for DLL (no EXE option). Please can somebody point me in the right...

I have a program that writes a Boolean True value out to an ini file. I am running it on a Windows 2000 SP3 English PC that has some German software on it. The trouble is that somewhere along the line the True value is being translated to German "WAHR" (True in German). I have...

EXE's got stripped out of all emails and put into quarantine where i deleted them. This...

Success!! I used the U-Promote program as suggested by Keith. I was extremely nervous, but it worked like a dream. The only bit of extra work was reassigning permissions on the shared drive, as it put Everyone..Full Control as default. The best $99 I ever spent. Thanks to All

    Switching to Native mode

I want to switch my domain into native mode. I still have a NT4 BDC connected in mixed mode. What will happen to this BDC when I switch? Will it just sit there oblivious to the rest of the Domain, or will it keep trying to contact the PDC? I don't want to rebuild it as it will be too much work...

    Browsing Active Directory resources

Sorry if this sounds a bit obvious. Are the client machines DNS settings setup OK and pointing to the server?

Trying to authenticate to old DC

There was a problem with clients that was fixed with SP2. W2K client machines would cache login information prior to SP2

Trouble joining Ex 2000 Server to an existing 5.5 Site

I am having trouble joining an Exchange 2000 Server to an existing 5.5 Site. I have Windows 2000 running in mixed mode (PDC = 2K, 2 x NT4 BDC) I installed the Exchange ADC onto the PDC. I ran /ForestPrep and joined the existing site, then I ran /domainprep - no problems (AD looks fine with the...
