Thanks Gents
I renamed all the files to "number".mp3 up to 270.mp3 and had no problems fitting all of them onto my 1GB flashdrive. Now I can enjoy all the music that I like when I'm driving my car.
Thanks for your help :)

Hi
I have 1GB and 2GB flash Drive and I tried to fill both with MP3 songs. I can only get around 400MB of files on each one which equates to about 120 songs. This is the same for both drives.
Is there a limit to the number of files that can be in the root directory of flash drives? They are bot...
You might also consider clearing all the ticks from the startup programs in msconfig. Go start, run, type msconfig. Open the start tab and remove all the ticks. Reboot, if it works try to fing the culprit causing the problem by entering the ticks back on a few programs at a time until it fails...

I'm not going to change anything now, too much bother. I posted the info for "info only" in case anyone else has a similar problem. I was just suprised as to why it did what it did.
Thanks for you super efforts in trying to keep us all operating smoothly.

Hi All
I created a great hullabaloo regards the subject some time back and was never able to resolve my problem. Read thread779-1031578 about all my failed attempts. Well you wouldn't believe but I found a way which actually fixed my problem but I have no idea why it does. When I boot my machine...

A friend mistakenly used the feature in OE to compress all folders. Questions: Where do all the emails go when this feature is used? Can they be uncompacted? and can the compacted emails be accessed? The is no archive folder in the folder list of her OE.
She is using Win XP SP2, any help with...

I'm not sure what those files are:tenisp.bak1, tenisp.bak2
tenisp.ini, tenisp.ini2, tenisp.tmp, tenisp.tmp2, but if you don't need the files you can delete them all together during a reboot by using a small program called "DELLATER". This will at least stop any of the files recreating another...
Have you tried turning off all active programs before starting defrag. Right click everthing near the clock and see if you can exit or shutdown the program. If you can turn nearly everything off then commence your defrag again. Hope this helps

I have managed to fix this problem with a bit of research. I concluded that the problem had to be in the boot.ini file so I read some KBs in microsoft help. Finished up booting into recovery mode and at the prompt I typed in "MAP". This enable me to select the OS that I want to...
The computer I have will only start in safe mode. When in safe mode I removed all the startup options when in MSCONFIG. Still no change. I pressed F8 and went to last know good config, the only option was C:\windows "SAFE MODE". I then attempted to repair the installation using my win xp disk...
