One question on this 9608 VPN phone to Sonicwall setup.
Many home users use 192.168.1.x for their home network. What happens when you have multiple VPN phones deployed that use this same subnet? Will the single static IP route of 192.168.1.0 work for all the remote phones?
We will only...
All,
Got this working (for the moment). It turns out I had a default route of 0.0.0.0 to 192.168.50.1 (router on the IP500 subnet). I had to add a static route in the Ip500 for the remote site (i.e. 192.168.20.0). The default route of 0.0.0.0 should have addressed this but for some reason...
There are plenty of IP Endpoint licenses.
The protected network matches the IPO's network (also tried (0.0.0.0/0).
The remote lan (vpn phone)is a different subnet, when the vpn tunnel is built the phone has 2 IP addresses, one on its local network 192.168.1.101 and one on the IPO's subnet...
Guys and Pros, please help....
I have setup VPN phones in the past with very good results using the old Kentrox routers, and very recently Watchguard.
We cannot get a 9608 vpn phone to work with a newer Sonicwall. We can get the tunnel up and phone then goes to the infamous "Discover". It...
There are 29 10-digit ICR entries, not that many. The only way we were able to get this fixed temporarily was to open up a saved config and send it to the IP500, then let it reboot. Most of the ICRs point to a VMPro module. We had this happen about 6 months ago and was able to get the SIP...
We inherited an IP500 R9.1.12. It has PRI and few SIP trunks and a mix of 9508s/9608s. System runs fine until an ICR is added or changed. Moreso when adding ICR that is pointing to SIP trunks. When you call the new ICR the IP500 instantly reboots.....not good.
We are not sure if this is a bug...
Check if there are any "keep alive" settings. I don't recall if they are any in R5 specifically, they may be there. If so, set them to about 30-60s.
I found this under "Firewall NAT Type" under System>Lan Network Topology tab.
Restricted Cone NAT: A restricted cone NAT is one where all...
I am attempting my first SpectraLink SIP phone setup with IP500 R11. There is a decent "Application Notes for 84xx Phones" dated 7/23/2018. It states (page 14) you need to create xml files and put them on a FTP server for the 8440s to properly boot and authenticate to the IP Office, etc.
Does...
Wow, great feature Karlzre. Is this feature available on the ERS3524-PWR switches? I will look when I get time. These switches will be in a comm closet with good air conditioning so noise is not main concern (the noise bothers me as it indicates premature switch failures). The lifetime...
I will try to post a video or audio file.
Glad to hear that this is "normal" sounding for these switches Westi. Best I can describe the "pulsating" is that all the fans in the PoE switch (5 fans) slow down and speed up together every 2-3 seconds. The non-PoE ERS switch does the same and has 1...
I have been using/installing data switches since the early 90s but not much in the past 5 years or so......so I don't know what the newer ones are sounding like. I guess this is normal as most, if not all (cooling fans), are made in china. I hope they last like yours do dbuxon101.

I know this is not IP Office office question but having trouble finding feedback on Avaya ERS switches.
We ordered and received 2 Avaya 3524GT switches for new new IP500 deployment. One is the PoE version and the other is the non-PoE version. I powered them up and the fans sounds weird. The...
