Hi
need to change three settings
tcp_con_req_max_q
tcp_con_req_max_q0
tc_time_wait_interval
I used the ndd -set /dev/tcp command to change the above settings, but after rebooting Sun server they changed back. How can the settings be permanantly changed.
Regards
We have a sporadic failure on backing up the O/S on our Windows 2003 SP2 Exchange cluster ( 3 hosts)- the failure usually occurs on one of the three hosts - the error in the windows application log reads

We currently utilise Networker, but are looking at other backup solutions including Commvault - has anybody worked with both solutions and could give an opinion on which they feel is the better backup product
Hi there we use EMC Networker to backup up our Exchange cluster - Exchange 2003 SP2. The Public Folders backup has never (though some of the public folders have backed up) worked due to a COM error 0x80070005 - access is denied. We know that the permissions are set correctly and that Networker...

Thanks for the response - unfortunately the current server is only 2 yrs old - the server was built as Win 2000 because the 3rd party Application which resides on this server had not been verified on Win 2003. We cannot get funding for extra hardware - on this basis what would be the best way...
Please could someone tell me the difference between an SQL 2005 Standard and Enterprise Licence.
we have a server which has been built as Windows 2003 Enterprise - it has 8GB memory and quad core processor but SQL 2005 Standard has been installed
We currently have an application which sits on a Universe database on a unix server - currently uses a mixture of Solaris ufsdumps and EMC's EDM backup solution to backup the Live and test databases pre and post batch processing using Unix cron job.
Wish to move backups to Networker 7.3.3...
Apologies for the delay - the manual backup kept timing out. What we have since found is that our Netowrk card has been configured as 100mb rather than 1GB - we have reconfigured the card plus broken down our backups at folder level rather than just drive level, the improvement has been...
I will let you know as soon as this manual backup has been done- an oracle database is on this drive - I will need down time for this box as we do not have Networker RMAN module, thus I will have to close oracle down.
This drive has full access rights - the drive on this server is not local but SAN attached storage - Clariion CX500 - Im not sure what difference this would make.
Currently on Networker 7.3.3 - Networker server - Solaris 10

There are no error messages or write errors in /var/nsr/logs/daemon.log.

We have a Scalar I2000 Robot with 6 LT03 tape drives and 200 tapes - this is connected via fibre to Unix Networker server - O/S Solaris 10, we also have 2 Windows 2000 dedicated storage nodes , currently we only backup 10 hosts.
Version of Networker is 7.3.2 ( we are to upgrade to 7.3.3...
An additonal problem is that the LT03 tapes are being marked as full, when they are clearly not - for example when looking at the individual volumes, as little as 5GB of data has been written to a tape. The tape is then marked as full. I cannot understand this - the tapes have varying amounts of...
Please help - currently using Networker 7.3.2 - ADIC I2000 robot with 6 LT03 drives with 200 LT03 tapes - backup retention policy is one month - unfortunatley with the problems of Dynamic Drive sharing (it was recently introduced to our site), we now have no free tapes. I know this beggars...
