Dave,
There are NO schematics you will ever get for the Trantalks - very closely held by Lucent/Avaya.
Use the basic handset test procedure for testing. Its in the manual!
Are you looking to get into the Transtalk repair business? Its a challenge!

Avaya has had problems with both the Large and Small PVM cards - the CDW3 versions.
The newest CWD4 versions seem to be 99% problem free barring a power surge etc. which isn't Avaya's problem.
The factory reset solves some of these problems, but many just are defective which is caused by...
Pink,
Did you say you had the IBM/Hitachi DDD-SI software? We lost our copy and it is a hassle getting it replaced with Hitachi now. Send me an email if you do. Thanks

Does anyone know where to get a copy of the special software program called DDD-SI used to diagnose or reprogram the IBM hard drives for problems & circuit boards with drive config info? The latest release is DDD-SI R5.8.

Having problems with a 556/2169 older Definity Audix on a G3Si8.4 test switch. Installed it correctly into slots 9 and back but can't seem to get it to come up in the switch successfully. Board tests ok, but no communication with the 715?? Have the correct "octupus" cable - H600-475-GR2,I2...
You are correct - I didn't want to get too techy as my reply was long anyway.
There are specific components that we would always remove from the board as they would not handle any solvent or petrol based cleaning solution.
Just got another True ACS R4.0 in today. Same problem ... small...

I agree there may be a wiring problem or issues on the Telco side of the switch.
Another issue we have found in our repair lab with the ACS R4.0 processor is on the main circuit board. Avaya had a specific problem during manufacturing of the R4.0 circuit board where the protective coating they...
Jinx,
A wINSPM type backup-convert-restore function would be helpful on the new R8 Remote Access Software.
If you ever run into the problem again with an old processor R1.1-R2-R3 etc that you need to recover/restore programming thru Backup card to your "newer" processor, let me know...
Shanon,
Sounds like you might have a defective MM R3.0.
While there may be a programming conflict creating these routing issues, I would be concerned that there is another problem since your VM calls are triggering port 3 to answer first in line. Not a major issue if you have 6 ports, but if...
Merlinman is correct or also just change around the 4 port connections to the 012RG and see if the "bad" port follows the changes.
You may have a a problem with the MLM007s main board in that it isn't signalling the 3rd port on the 2 port expansion module. May need some board level...
We have a problem occuring on a fresh install on an Intuity Audix. We are loading R5.1 from CD - clean installation - and the install goes perfectly per Avaya's written install specs until we get to the step for loading the various software packages. We select the main software selections per...
Nice little Partner history doc.
A correction to the Endeavor section ... Lucent did make an Endeavor upgrade PCMCIA card to flash the original R1 to R2. The R2 (called the Large System Upgrade) allowed for expanded system capacity and also additional Partner modules.
When Avaya wrote the ACS...
We have the software version 2.5.4 which we load as apart of our normal repair process for Merlin Messaging R2.5s.
I don't think that flash would do us any good as it would only flash the drive backwards when R2.5.4 has all the updates on it.
Thanks for the info!

Does anyone have a spare copy of the MMSG R2.5.13 repair flash upgrade? BIN file is fine! We lost our only copy when we moved into our new building last year!
Send me an email!

As Transtalk repair specialists ... I would agree with most of your comments.
Spectralink actually was in "bed" with Lucent/Avaya in Denver assisting and manufacturing some of their Transtalk equipment - 9040/9631. Avaya discontinued the 9631 and are selling Spectrlinks products...
Thanks guys but ...
Sys C: won't work if the drive doesn't appear as a formatted drive.
This drive has lost both the MBR data and the FAT data. All or a majority of the remaining data should be there.
Again,
What I need to do is rebuild the MBR and FAT on this drive so that it can be...
We accidentally ran GDisk - DOD Wipe - on one of our tech workstation's main WIN 98 drive while attempting the Wipe a secondary drive on the station.
We caught it before it made any real progress - 0% was still showing - maybe 30 seconds of runtime at the most.

We have a box of new Avaya PCMCIA cards that came in on a surplus equipment purchase from Avaya.
The cards are Type II and do not have any standard Avaya or Lucent labels - front or back. They do have the small ID label on them that shows .... DWD2EMAC S1 V1 R1 (sounds like a Beta card) SN is...
