Hello brainpk,
Some times ago, I feld this 'How to' (I'm not the author).
You should try it :)

I have been using VMware Workstation version 4 for running Windows 98 and various distributions of Linux, so it was natural to want to do...
Hi!
Maybe you can use this way...
(you have to install the 'operating system service - Print utilities')
1) - scoadmin printer
Options -> Defaults ->
[X] Accept New Remote Unix Jobs
System -> Print Services ->
[X] Local Print Services Enabled
[X] Remote UNIX Print Service Enabled
2) edit...
Hello everyone,
I've got a strange comportement with crontab.
Crontab seems to make some 'pauses' in his job.
I execute a script in this crontab to monitor each 15 minutes his comportement:
15,30,45,00 * * * * date >> /usr1/secu/ctr_cron
When I check the result of this, I've got some strange...
Personally I use this method.
rm -f /etc/auth/system/ttys-t
And that works too ;-)
But you can also simply move this file.
mv /etc/auth/system/ttys-t
Have a nice day.
Hi,
Printers devices are the same ?
Look at your /etc/printcap file.
ex:
(the ip address for printer is set in the /etc/hosts)
kjprinter:\
:lp=:rm=printer:rp=raw:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/kjprinter:mx#0:
The rp= must be set with the right parameter. In this exemple that's an HP printer. (raw)...
G'day mates !
I'm very disapointed with a warning message on a OpenServer 5.0.6 (intel bi-processor, adaptec Raid controller )...
WARNING: LSS_SGE on ha=0, dsp=F7000C4C dcmd_dbc=01000066 dsa=F7000C00 dsps=00EB10DC !!!
WARNING: dstat=A0 on ha=0 has DS_BF, dsp=F70008A8 dcmd_dbc=0E000000...
Take a look on the work of Nigel Simpson (Caldera Systems Engineer).
He wrote an very usefull document nammed:
"Replacing VisionFS with Samba on SCO Openserver 5.0.6 from Caldera".
I have tested his method and I can say now: That Works !!!
But with an old version of Samba. (2.2.2) ;-)
I was in trouble with slha too...
This solution is a little bit 'brutal' but that works fine.
Find a new SCO fresh installed computer.
Get the original slha package in this computer:
/var/opt/K/SCO/link/1.1.1Ga/etc/conf/pack.d/slha
put these files in the same location on your patched server...
To add the default gateway, ( ex:10.100.0.1 )
/etc/route add default 10.100.0.1
If you want to add another route,
/etc/route add -net 192.168.0.0 -netmask 255.255.0.0 10.100.0.1
G'Day...
Hi,
We have exactly the same problem on a recent SCO 5.0.6 system. No matter what shell you use nor which interrupt character, the interrupt key does not work.
I have submitted the problem to SCO but haven't had an answer yet. I guess one of the os supplements changed that behaviour, since 5.0.5...
Hi,
1) set printer parameters in 'scoadmin' ( posted Aug 10, 2003 )
2) add a entry for the printer in /etc/hosts
ex: 192.168.0.11 hplj1
3) type 'rlpconf' add your printer name ex: laserjet
then 'r' then enter the the name of the remote host that laserjet is attached to: hplj1
You have now...
Hi inq1,
I've used this method many time for networked printer.
Almost all printer i've configured was from HP.( Laserjet with JetDirect module in )
We prefer to sell this kind of product ( hp ) for the compatibility with our applications.
;-) take a little time to try
Ps: If you want to...
If you take my method, dont forget to change the following parameters.
In 'scoadmin' go to the printer screen.
In 'option' > 'default' enable:
(X) Accept New Remote Unix Jobs
and in
'System'>'Print Services' enable:
(X) Local Print Service Enabled
(X) Remote Unix Print Services Enabled
bye
Hi,
Try with 'rlpconf' then go to /etc and edit 'printcap'
In the printcap file, check for your printer inscription and check the 'rp' entry in it. Change the 'rp' destination for 'raw'
ex:
HP: :lp=:rm=HP:rp=raw:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/HP:mx#0:
bye
Hi,
I personaly use ' scoadmin '
go to >network > Network Configuration Manager
Check if the 2 cards are here ;-)
then enlight the 'SCO TCP/IP' of the card you want to configure and finally choose in the upper menu 'Modify protocol configuration'
Fill the fields, choose 'ok' then 'Hardware' >...
