Hello Chgwhat,
Thank you for your reply. I think were on the right track. The fdisk -l does show /dev/sdc as 1245 GB as is it should with the new space. I am confused though at the partition nameing and what to resize. In the example, there are sda1, sda2,etc which I understand are...
Hello All,
I am working on expanding a partition on my SUSE Linux Server but having a problem doing so. Here is some background on the setup.
- The drive is a "Virtual Drive" on a Dell San device
- I have increased the allocated space to that virtual disk from about 973GB to 1.16TB
- I...
Thanks for the reply! I spoke with a consultant at the end of the day yesterday and he also said those were the correct choices. Glad I seem to have a consensus of SQL experts agreeing!

Hello All,
I am setting up a brand new SQL 2012 Server. I have configured this server with three different RAID arrays to maximize disk performance. A mirror for the OS, a mirror for the log files and a RAID 10 array for the databases. My question is in regards to the Data Directories tab of...
Hello All,
We have just upgraded our system from GW 6.5 to GW 8 SP1. Our staff is still running the 6.5 Client while IS tests the 8 SP1 client.
We are having an issue with the GW 8 clients printing HTML. It appears the wrong print engine is being used. I believe that GW should use the IE print...
Hello All,
I purchased a NSA 240 last year and it came with 1 year subscription to Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Service as well as the Premium Content Filtering service. I am due up for renewal and have two questions.
1. If I do not renew do the services disable...
By issues, I just meant that I was unable to follow the Microsoft "How To" article after that point. This was because the DNS auto populated instead of allowing me to add a new secondary zone.
So far things have been working great. I have tested downing each server and the clients continue to...
OK. I spoke with another system admin and the theory we have is the secondary DNS server "auto populated" the zone because it was a domain controller.
So if that is the case, does anyone know if it is a problem to have DNS setup on two domain controllers?
Thanks,
Daniel
Hello All,
We have a Windows Domain with two Windows 2003 domain controllers in it. One of those domain controllers also acts as our internal DNS server. Well it locked up last night so this morning DNS was not working in the office. I have decided to setup our second domain controller as a...
Hello All,
I have a PC which I would like to run a hardware test on. I want to test things like the video card, memory, hard drive, etc.
A Google search turns up a lot but I don't want to get anything spammy or full of spyware.
Anyone have any experience with a good free hardware testing...
I found the answer to this one. Groupwise treats the HTML as an attachment. So when I search or filter for content that is only in HTML I have search the attachment.
So now I have instructed our users to use the advanced find or advanced filter with the perameters.
IE.
Message contains...
Hello All,
We are running GW 6.5 sp6.
We have found that the Groupwise client search or filter does not find the contents of HTML only messages. So for instance, if we are looking for messages where Joe Smith was mentioned, it only finds the message if it was a plain text message or if the...
For clarification, are you seeing the deleted user in the list of mailboxes the current user can proxy to or in the security section list of users who have proxy rights to the current users mailbox?

Hello All,
I am having an issue on two of our 20 computers in the office. When they open a Word or Excel doc, the document displays but you cannot do anything in it for between 3 and 20 seconds. During that time I see the name of the document and the character count listed on the bottom...
Hello All,
I just applied SP7 to both of my Netware 6.5 sp2 servers. As a result, both servers have had a significant drop in available memory. Looking at my trend graphs, I dropped about 400MB on my Groupwise server which has 1.5 GB of RAM in it and about 180 MB on my file server which has...
He likes it for a couple of reasons.
1. Using DBCopy to create a second copy of the PO and Domain gives you a "Restore Point" for GW. That way users can access yesterdays mailbox from their client if they accidentally deleted something.
In my opinion though, that restore point would be...
Hello All,
We are currently backing up our Groupwise 6.5.7 (running on Netware 6.5) to tape which is hung off or our files server (also NW 6.5). We are using the TSAFS with the GW switch to do it. It is running fine but we are planning to purchase a new file server and upgrade NOS to OES2...
Hello All,
I have two questions about backing up a SQL Server.
1. I am doing Full (nightly before our tape backup starts) and transactional (every 6 hours) backups though maintenance plans. I then pick up those backups via our Arcserve tape backup at night. Is there any need to use a SQL...
