Hi all,
I have a branch office which is experiencing 20-30% packet loss when pinging internal machines and switch. If i put laptop on same patchlead as pc i get 0%loss and 100%<10ms (as it should be!). Now, if i put a hub inbetween pc and wall socket I get 0%loss. Obviously the hub is repeating...
Thanks all for your responses.
Basically anyone who hangs up while vector is still processing then its an abandoned call - even tho its being flowed out - vector processing wont finish until call is answered.
Thanks Skara - will put a short ringback before queing the call, should pull the...
We dont have CMS - too expensive said the money men!
On the last switch I maintained there was a variable that determined whether an abandoned call would be registered as such for reporting purposes ie: if caller hangup within 'n' seconds then dont report it.
Is there any such variable for...
Two questions that I havent been able to find a difinitive answer for - so I've come to real experts!

VDN points to vector, vector does time of day etc then routes to skill, treatment etc - first step is wait 2 seconds hearing ringback.

Thanks B. Thats what we've agreed internally with network manager here.We dont have extra public address at the moment but will do shortly for firewall project.Got spare domains aswell so should be straight forward.Would be great when done as all upgrades & patches (plus testing) can be done in...
Guys, I would like to be able to setup an Exch server to be used for testing. Question is : Is it possible to route second e-mail domain to test server with our existing router? Would then be able to test various scenarios in what would effectively be a live environment but would not affect...
Cheers Bob.Upgraded to enterprise version of exchange as reaching 12gig database and growing rapidly.Original server is PDC so will be staying on network. Gratefull for the advice. Reading up on removal of first server from exchange org.nearly finished moving mailboxes - only a few left!!
Bob, thanks for the info. will keep it in mind, but everything seems to have gone ok with the move, so prob wont attempt it.Thnx again guys for your assistance.
All, when calculating required disk space for off-line defrag should you subtract the free space reported by 1221 from the database size. Moved 50% of mail onto new server so got 6gig to reclaim from 12gig database with 60ish MEG free space avail to OS. Cheers......
Bronto.... More mailboxes moved and ratio does alter during the process. Also priv.edb not increasing at same alarming rate so I guess its working as it should!! Well done MS. Not often said!!!
Thx again B..., Got the concept. What would happen if I moved another mailbox to new server which would have a message that already exists in either of the 2 existing mailboxes? Would a single instance be created automatically on new server or would there be 2 stored in priv.edb?
Thought: can i...
Thx bronto...., but never done this before, how do i clean & what can i do about the ones i've already moved? Could you explain single instance storage a bit furthur please?
Thx..
All, Have set up new exch server, joined to existing site and moved a couple of mailboxes across. All seems well in sending recieving etc BUT the 2 mailboxes together were sized at 140meg on old server but priv.edb on new server is 280meg. Why would this be so?? anything I can do about it as I...
Sketch, New server is in same physical network but in new IP range & subnet! Can ping eachother though as routed somewhere. Does this need to change or can I put something in hosts file ????
