How to start a new query as SQL

The process for starting an SQL query in Access is kind of tiresome. Does anyone know a shortcut or way to customize so that Access starts with a blank SQL query instead of a template? What I am doing is clicking New Object: Query (which I have on the quick toolbar), closing the Show Table box...

Advanced settings in Manage Sites won't open

I have worked with earlier versions of DW, just got CS5. Server, Version Control and Advanced Settings in Manage Sites won't open. Click, nothing happens. All you can do is Basic. What is causing this? How can I fix?

Screen colors going bad. What does it mean?

Very suddenly, the colors on the screen of my old eMac are washed out and messed up. Before I lug the heavy thing to a repair shop, can someone give me an idea what this might be? Tube going? Card? I am not very tech savvy about hardware. I have a new iMac, so don't want to put a lot into the...

    Can't connect to Internet

It's a router, supplied and set up by the service. No documentation. Guess I'll have to contact them. I know the password they gave me. It is not WEP nor WPA. Thanks for all your help.

    Can't connect to Internet

It keeps trying to connect, then eventually stops. I connected (just long enough to see that it worked) to an unsecured network. When I try to connect to WPA networks, I get a box for the password. When I try to connect to unmarked, presumably WEP, secured networks, the same thing happens as...

    Can't connect to Internet

I have tried that more times than I can count. I don't know which boxes to click, but I think I have tried every combination. None of the paths get me to a connection. I believe that I do not need to enter a WEP key. I believe that the Internet provider set it up so I don't have to. I bought a...

    Can't connect to Internet

Yes, I have View Available Wireless Networks, which shows my network. By the way, I have tried to connect to a nearby unprotected network, with no luck. Screen shots: http://s831.photobucket.com/albums/zz235/gomerel/

    Can't connect to Internet

    1. The various drivers were not installed. I didn't know I had to use the OS X disc to install them. Now they are. 2. IPCONFIG/ALL now prints out but I have no idea how to paste it here, having spent a lot of time looking. I didn't see any way to copy the text from the command window. It took a...

    Can't connect to Internet

No, I do not have a Wireless Networks Tab in the Properties Dialog Window. In Safe Mode with Networking, Network Connections is blank. I vaguely know what Ping means, but not how to do it.

    Can't connect to Internet

I do have an icon for the wireless connection. Right-clicking, I have all those options except "View Available Wireless Networks.

    Can't connect to Internet

Ok. Thanks. Hmmm. I think it's safer to use my Mac for the Internet anyway. But seriously . . . I entered netsh winsock reset catalog. Successful. IPCONFIG /ALL didn't do anything. It is cable. This computer has a wireless connection to it. The router must assign IP addresses. They are not...

    Can't connect to Internet

I have an iMac with Windows XP on a partition. The Mac portion connects to high-speed Internet with no problem. When in Windows, Network Connections shows that I am connected. But neither IE nor Firefox will connect to it. So, it seems to be some kind of Windows issue. Can anyone help? What...

    Can't set standard F keys

I am also using the new aluminum keyboard. I'll try the fn key when I get home. If that's the case, though, I'll probably toss the keyboard and go back to my old one. Not exactly a shortcut when you have to press 2 keys.

    Can't set standard F keys

Yes, I know about setting system preferences. It's not working for me. I set a preference to use standard F keys but it doesn't work, even after I restart. I still get the new functions, which I do not want.

    Site review

Thanks for your input. Actually, the "old" format is only about 6 months old. They did start using css for some features. Can't understand why they didn't also use it instead of tables. As I mentioned, I am a mere peon, many levels below where these decisions are made. Harry

    Site review

Our agency, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, recently redesigned its home page. The home page used to look like this secondary page. This is the revised home page. I have communicated to the designers that the old design has the strength of being clean and crisp, whereas the new design is...
