I use Photoshop EPS files for most of my 4C photo work (I'm on Mac platform), mostly because clipping paths are enabled. I use vector EPS files (from Freehand 9.0), mostly for logo designs, maps and illustration purposes (they retain their color fine). Clipped photo EPS files lose their color in...

Thanks, jAQUAN,
but I think you misunderstood. I use the images as true spot color (Pantone) duotones (not 4C) in a 2-color publication. I can BUILD the duotones in PS5.0 -- no problem, but they are Postcript Level 3 and won't print on my printers -- either as separations, or as composite. They...
Is there a way to make duotones from Photoshop 5.0 print, besides opening them in 4.0 and saving from there? Has Adobe come up with a patch or anything?
It's a real pain going back and forth.
If you've tried everything possible to fix the file, and still cannot open it, you can do a workaround. If you know that the problem lies with text and not graphics, you can use the place command to put the text into a new document. But, Pagemaker 6.5 does not come with a Story Import Filter...
I could not open a corrupted Pagemaker 6.5 file, either. And, since you cannot import 6.5 text into another 6.5 document with the "base" filters installed with 6.5, I was not happy thinking about retyping 4 hours worth of numbers (and tab setups, and font changes, etc.) in a new...
I've found that TIFF files lose their color, also. Try placing only EPS files. If you need to keep the files as TIFFs, perhaps create a separate document with only EPS files, or relink to the Tiffs before sending the final file out.
