found the answer in case anyone else needs to know.
You have to go to the System properties applet in Control Panel, click on the Data Execution Prevention tab, and turn off Data Execution Prevention for Crystal Reports.
Any one have any idea why the install went with out a hitch but when trying to start the application get an error that Crystal Reports has stopped working and shuts down.
your report filter would specify the product.
I would create a parmeter field asking what product you want to choose for the report. That way the report is a template not matter what product you choose.
so set up the report to show all the fields.

starting a new report in Crystl 8.5 and get this error. Where do I start to find the fix? what is causing this. I reinstalled the crystal program and still the same error.
Purchase GoldBox Pro for dbase. It has a section to archive emails very nicely and links via GoldBox views to the record. Tested this myself with a couple of clients.
Sounds like you don't have the dll's needed or maybe not registered. I've always seen promblems with crystal 9 running from within GM.
