capturing LPT port to JetDirect printer
depends on your OS. In NT (2000 also?) you use net use. In Win 9x, the jetdirect software won't let you use LPT1, but you can use LPT2 or 3 or 4. If you can mange the HP web site, get to the support section and search for "jetdirect DOS printing" or something similar. It should/might...- Daremo

yes... on their web site, search for just "jetdirect". It has been a long time so maybe they have a different utility, but I think you use hpnpcnfg and/or rlp (remote line printing). Again, check SCO's web site for details because the configuration is very...detailed.- Daremo

HP 79 Service codes
79 error generally mean that the printer was asked to do some process that it couldn't figure out how to do - a typical one is when you print some odd sort of font and the printer is trying to bitmap it, but the instructions it receives don't seem to make sense.<br>graphics can do the same...- Daremo
