I have been working with printer sharing for years, so I feel I am pretty on top of all the issues. But now, this is stumping me. When I install and share a printer onto a 64bit version of Server 08, I can no longer connect to it from a 32bit desktop. I am specifically testing using drivers that...
Why don't you just use the Remote Web Workplace feature on SBS. This allows for secure remote access to any desktop and/or server that is part of the domain and running remote desktop or terminal services. All you need on the client side is a web browser, no VPN to fool with.
Hello all,
I am trying out SCE for the first time on a single SBS 2003 server. The installer tells me that I cannot install because my default website has a self signed SSL certificate, which of coarse, is normal for SBS. It says I have to either disable SSL on the default site, or use a...

I for one have seen this happen often, especially with terminal server users profiles. I would love to know a solution that does not involve a reboot. And, yes I am aware of the Terminal server manager utility.
Hello,
I have no experience with iphone specifically, but have worked quite a bit with activesync using mobile 6 devices. One tool I find very valuable when troubleshooting or testing is the mobile 6 emulators available for free from Microsoft. It works similiar to virtual PC, but runs the...
If you look at the suggested SBS migration documents from Microsoft, they recomend creating an entirely new domain and exchange organization, setting up DNS forwarders between the two dmomains, then using the migration tools to transfer acounts and mailboxes from one to the other. I could be...
bobej,
I have the SSL on the site setup to use 444 instead of 443. So to get to the site from the outside, I would type https://externalip:444/ts
From inside my LAN I type https://internalip:444/ts
I know the router is setup properly, as I said, I am getting to the connections page where you...
I cannot figure out which port to forward to my 2008 terminal server to allow a TSWeb connection from outside my firewall. From inside the LAN, I can connect fine. From outside, I get to the https://myservername/ts page, put in a server name, but then cannot connect. I have tried forwarding 443...
I think I found my own answer. This procedure is simple and works:
Go to the Error Pages feature in IIS Manager, and click "Add"
Now, add your own error handler for 403.4 errors, and choose either your own
custom page, or choose the "302 redirect option" and redirect to wherever you want to...
Hello all,
I am starting to get my feet wet with Server 08 and IIS7 in a test environment. My first question is how can I set thing up so that my users do not have to type HTTPS://myserver into their browser to get to any of the IIS sites? With IIS6, what I would normally do is create a "welcome...
I am using the Outlook 2003 adm. I see the options for auto-archive but I do not see a way to set the lcation for the archive.pst file. Can this be done?
Since I can't afford a static IP for my new phone, I would like to just trust the DHCP IP range of the Verizon mobile network in my firewall so my phone can VPN in from where ever. Does anyone know the range(s) of IP's Verizon uses for their mobile phone network?
Hello,
I have setup a GPO for use by WinXP Pro clients running IE6 and IE7. This GPO will force them to use a non-existent proxy server address, thus blocking their internet access. I am also populating the proxy exclusion list as method of allowing some sites. The problem is that my list is too...
I have two different Windows 2003 standard servers, both running Intel dual CPU motherboards with 4gb of RAM. The motherboard bios page shows all 4gb of ram, but the Windows system page only shows 3gb of installed RAM. According to Intel and Microsoft, due to the architecture of the motherboard...
I have a removable, hot-swap SATA drive I am using for backup on my 2003, sp2 server. Upon removal of this drive, I will occasionally see an error message saying not all data has been written to the drive. I would like to optimize this drive for quick removal, but these options are all greyed...
This is the code that tiny counter had me add to the end of the page:
<a href="http://www.tinycounter.com" target="_blank" title="counter"><img border="0" alt="counter" src="http://mycounter.tinycounter.com/index.php?user=mtech2k"></a>
The counter does not reside on my server. The code just...
I am trying to get a hit counter from www.tinycounter.com to work on my companies website. It is running on a very basic site, with default IIS settings on a Win 2003 server. The URL is http://mail.spriggsinc.com/default2.htm
When I open the page on Internet Explorer directly from within...
