i've tried all these and nothing works... i tried the online esetonlinescanner_enu.exe and i still get this error...
Its more than just an app. install problem. it seems I can't run anything as administrator.

I'm pretty sure i have some virus or some kind of malware.
Every time I try to install a application I get a pop up runtime error for the consent.exe file. Then the whole installation terminates. If this is a virus or malware I essentially can't install anything to fix it.

Problem: After switching back to 1st computer, mouse works but keyboard stops working.

but what about the games installed in the steam root dir? Obviously they are all purchased through steam... but i will lose my progress in each game etc. and the fact i have to reinstall all of them... I've seen some users with over 2000 games! there has to be a work around...
well this is exactly why i have two computers. I wanted to separate my data files from the OS and OS drive and even keep it on a separate computer, and then back it up on a separate external drive weekly. On computer 2 all the apps can be reinstalled. (making a list now) Computer 1 is working...
