I have used an analogue modem on an analogue port and I don't recall any specific setting.
Not sure what trunks you have but analogue modems don't play well with SIP trunks and you will get reduced speeds but probably not an issue for your task.
You could try forcing a lower speed on the modem.
Agreed with what dd1234 says. You need to add the last software to the SD card and upgrade the IPO to the latest firmware - rally something for someone who knows what they are doing. Also don't make any calls until this is sorted out otherwise you may be locked to an old release.
I think it signed me up for notifications on all the groups that I had ever visited so I had to go in and turn most of them off.
