    One other thing, I even added the user to a firewall group that has no access filters applied, meaning it's wide open (temporarily for testing only) and it made no difference. There was no connection even though he had open access.

    Ok, still no luck at all with this permissions thing. Can anyone tell how to switch back to VLDB? At least I know things were being written to the database with it. Thanks.

    Thanks. I'll check the error code. I've been through all the permissions but I'll do it again. One thing, though. I did have the VLDB working correctly (with no errors or problems) before I switched to SQL. I wanted to make the switch before I started having problems again.
