Problem for me is that the delay for the users is not infrequent, it is happening everytime and can be as long as 30 seconds.

I will look into command line switches, atm upgrading to Outlook2003 is not an option.

All good questions burro, but can't answers them right now. I didn't think drivers would make a difference to the verify part of the job but I could be wrong.
As a temp work around I have turned off verify, does this pose a significant risk? Their backup job is very straight forward full copy...
