I am running sp3 and ie6. I have mcafee up to date and no viruses. IE is not the problem win explorer is. Is there a way to find the runaway process. This has been a problem since the computer was built. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
When I open windows explorer (running Win2000) I sometimes recive an error message stating: explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. Am error log is being created.
The error log states:

Yes the original install loads and works ok.
I am able to open the boot.ini from the command line but it is read only. I would change that if I could find the boot.ini through search or explorer. Any suggestions?
