    TEC ACF Warning

Sounds like an orphaned Tivoli process. The eye symbol means that the profile is already being looked at or being edited. In this instance it is not the actual file that is being locked, but the instance of the ACP attribute in the Tivoli object database that is locked. I've seen this happen...

    d-link router di-704

Also check your connection settings. Some NICs have issues with autonegotiating link speed. If your NIC is set to autonegotiate, try hard setting to 10 ro 100. I have the DI-704P and I run 100 full with no issues.

    MOTHERBOARD UPGRADE

What is the IDE chipset on the two boards? Are they different? For instance, going from a mobo with an Intel chipset to one with a VIA or SIS chipset will usually result in a STOP7B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error. I don't know for sure, but it's more than likely a difference in the way the...

    Backupset not restoring as expected

Seems like a silly question, but when the backup is created, are the subdirectories being copied as well? That said, what mechanism are you using to create the backup?

    Network Cable Unplugged

Shared IRQ's are not unusual. Try playing with the link speed settings for the NIC itself. The Win2k drivers are a little different in their behavior than the Win98 drivers. The default setting in most cases will be auto-negotiate. Try one of the other settings to see if you can get it to work.

    Oracle Trap

You'll need to use the SNMP TEC adapter. Since the adapter runs on UPD port 162, make sure you don't already have another SNMP manager running on that port. Check out Page 85 of the TEC adapters guide for information on how to set it up.

    TWS Unattended install?

Anyone have any experience with this? I have to roll out 150 FTA's by 9/30.

tivoli workload scheduler nt to 2000 servers

tivoli workload scheduler nt to 2000 servers

I would suggest attempting to run an ad-hoc job. If you can do this, then your TWS permissions are still intact and it is a Windows authentication issue. From what you said, it sounds like this may be the case.

    Need help stopping Pop-ups

I would follow craigey's solution from the sound of your issue. Some spyware apps have hooks into the messaging subsystem that no popup stopper will address. That's why I suggested Ad-Aware. It will scan your drive and registry and identify all of the spybots running on the machine.

    Hard Drive size detects wrong

Thanks to Peahippo for the link to the drive documentation. Turns out that even though the jumper settings were printed on the drive, the orientation of the drive wasn't specified. So, the jumpers were set in the right pattern, but on the wrong side of the jumper block. Once I knew heads from...

    Hard Drive size detects wrong

Have a little experience with Fujitsu drives do we Peahippo? Thanks for all the great links. I'll play with them when I get home.

    Hard Drive size detects wrong

The BIOS date is sometime in 2001. When I first installed the drive I installed Mandrake Linux 9 and let it manage the partitions. It only saw 1.9GB of the drive. I decided to switch to Red Hat 8, but before I did, I decided to run an fdisk to verify the drive size. Fdisk showed the correct...

    Hard Drive size detects wrong

I have a Fujitsu MPE3064AT hard drive that is spec'd at 6.4GB. I have installed this drive on two different boards and it autodetects as 1.9GB. The first board was a Biostar and the current board is a PCChips. They are PIII boards, so I know there shouldn't be a BIOS issue with drive...

    Tivoli Workload Scheduler

I have tried it but I find that configuring the workstation itself is a more reliable method.

    Tivoli Workload Scheduler

You will install TWS on your agents like you normally would with the exception that on NT, you will enter the name of the master or manager in the appropriate field during setup. On UNIX, you will specify the master by using the "-master" argument with the customize script. This is...

    Shortening the message of TEC

It depends on how netview is sending the data. I'm not all that familiar with how Tivoli interfaces with SMS. I work primarily on UNIX. If the messages are being received via the SNMP adapter, then yes, it will be the same. You will need to modify the PRINTF statement in the Class Definition...
