I have a scenario where i have to handle the null values in the filter (say, in the WHERE condition i need (START_DATE is NULL) or (START_DATE >= ?Startdate))
How can i get this expression.
I have to create this in formula editor or SQL Expression editor.
Can anybody help in this...

Parameter is just a place holder, which can be created either through filter definition or the prompt definition.
for example when you say Name = ?xyz? in the filter definition, the xyz is the parameter which is gonna hold the specific value, based on which the report will be filtered...

I've created a value prmpt. But it cognos automatically displays a type -in prompt.
The poor performance is as you said bcoz of the size of the table which contains 1 million records. Is there any workaround to display the unique values to be displayed in the prompt.

Create required filters in the target report and make them as optional filter. Now in Drill through report( the report from which u wanna drill thru) create the appropriate drill thru's.
