Create Write-Only Folders in Windows 2003

Unfortunately, giving the users write access only allowed them to create files, but they could not overwrite the files once created. This is my main problem. It looks like write access lets you create the file only once, it does not allow any overwrite or modification.

Create Write-Only Folders in Windows 2003

I'm trying to create a special folder for backing up pst files for users using pfbackup utility. I also want to prevent users from being able to open the pst files from outlook, hence the "read access" restriction. i hope this clears it up a little bit. ..and thanks for the help so far. Mrdotz

Create Write-Only Folders in Windows 2003

Thanks, But I don't want the owners to be able to read their own files. I just want them to be able to write or overwrite the files inside their folders without being able to read the files in the folders.

Create Write-Only Folders in Windows 2003

Hi all, I'm trying to create a folder that only allows users to create or modify pst files but restricts them from reading such files. Is there a way to achieve this in folder permission/security settings in Windows 2003? If not, what other way can this be achieved? Thanks Mrdotz
