I think I got it to work by selecting the VPN as a connection in Internet Explorer. Once I've dialed in with IE everything else seems to work as well. Is that how you do it? How do I do the same thing without making IE connect stuff up? If this ends up working I'm having a party!

Allright I've finally found an article that explains the basics of VPN. I was pretty much walking into the blind. The VPN connects me into his network but how do I then get out into the internet from there? Cheers
