thanks for reply : I found out that my tape driver keeps uninstalling itself: it recently started this problem occuring more often: I'm going to try a tape cleaner, to see if it stops the re-occurrences- alphaserver1

My backups were working fine, until I received a message indicating that the tape media was off-line. When I insert the tape in the drive, the summary tab only indicates off-line. Tape drive itself shows configuration information on the summary tab. any solution to this. thanks..- alphaserver1
