    Thanks all..problem fixed. Found the answer at http://support.microsoft.com/kbid=307239 The Registry Content Type values for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gif and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg were incorrect.

    IE6-New windows opening minimised in small square???

    Thanks lonnie61, your first suggestion of manually dragging the small window to fit the screen has done the trick..now all new windows open maximised. Your thorough advice is much appreciated.

    Am trying to upgrade Win 98 with Win 98SE Upgrade CD but Setup says 'The Windows 98 files that are required for this upgrade cannot be found on your computer.
