Ben, yeah, that would work but how do I set up a loop which will continue until the array is full? It would have to just keep rechecking and checking and checking... if it's a slow modem might be a while. Do you know of a working example I could study, perhaps? I am working on a similar problem! Only I can't use CSS to solve it. How do I get the script(s) to wait until ALL the images are fully loaded before the slideshow begins? I have been exploring 'image.complete' but can't get the logic right - how do I construct a loop that will simply wait...- ZanderMander
