I want to create an MDE version of my Access 2000 MDB. But the MDE choice on my Database Utilities is greyed out.
All other choices are accessible. I have also checked and compiled my VBA code and trawled almost everywhere to see if I've unchecked a box somewhere. No joy.

If you don't want to use this form to view other records, why not set the form property 'Data entry' to 'Yes' which will ensure it opens up blank. You can set the focus on any control you wish.
If you use this form to view other records, you will need to change the property to 'Data entry'...
I think I've made a beginners' mistake. When I said 'this works', I was muddling datasheet view with continuous forms view. I cannot see how to hide the column headings in the datasheet subform....
Many thanks. This works - as long as you don't want to allow your users to take advantage of the flexibility of the datasheet view- e.g. resize, hide columns etc. Then the headings are not in the right place!
I'm a newcomer to Access 2000 (previous experience was with Filemaker).
I particularly like the flexibility offered by the datasheet view (especially when used in subforms).
But I don't like the default header style for columns (i.e. bold text/grey background). I've found various other ways...
