Hard Drive Disconnecting
Go to the website of the manufacturer oif your drive and download their diagnostic software. When you run that diagnostic it will tell you if the drive is bad, which it sounds could be your problem. Only one year old? Should be under warranty, just make a note of the error code if you get one...- onepc

keyboard not responding
Sounds like your keyboard is receiving power, but your motherboard is not receiving the keyboard signals. Sounds like you might need to replace the motherboard, unless you have a USB connector and you get yourself a USB keyboard. That MIGHT save you having to replace the motherboard, but...- onepc

Intermittent Yamaha CD-RW problem
I wonder if there are any programs running in the background, check in your "close program" box, which you bring up by doing a control+alt+delete. Do that once only to btring up the close program dialog box, twice will re-start your machine. Check what's running when you first start...- onepc

Defragmenting
