VBscript to run a Windows Client side extensions

When I run this script a Windows box appears that says "Open File - Security Warning. Do you want to run this file?" I don't know how to pre-answer that question so I can run the script quietly. I got this script from someone else and don't really know much about it. I think I am including the...

Event ID: 538 on security audit

Yes, some users have access to that file server and map drives to their user folders. However, the log shows that it is not PEOPLE logging on to that server, but computers and computers that are physically located miles away. I still don't know why a computer in one location would be logging on...

Event ID: 538 on security audit

I wouldn't think that this file server would be the one that CAL verification would be on and this log shows a computername, but not an associated user using that computer. It is computers in a totally different building.

Event ID: 538 on security audit

I looked at this article but still don't understand why a computer (not a user, but a COMPUTER) would be logging onto a fileserver in another building.

    Want to remove Standby

I am setting up computers for the public to use in a public library and when they click CTRL-ALT-DEL I don't want the word 'standby' to be an option. Does anyone know how to do this? I could diable CTRL-ALT-DEL in group policy but I want for staff to be able to shutdown the computer if...

Event ID: 538 on security audit

I get the following entry in the event viewer of a server on our WAN. It is not a DC. Why would a computer be logging on to this server? We are getting thousands of these entries in various servers throughout the system. Event Type: Success Audit Event Source: Security Event Category...

    Event ID 4356 - Com+

This is an event in the event viewer on a Domain Controller running Windows 2003. We are using Active Directory. Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it? It's happening every 15 minutes. Event Type: Warning Event Source: EventSystem Event Category: (52) Event ID: 4356 Date...

Run Office 2000 from a Windows 2000 server

We are trying to save money on licensing for Office 2000 and I am wondering if running the applications from a Windows 2000 server is a good idea. We could have up to 35 computers in one building that may want to do this, but probably not all at the same. What is the effect on the network speed...

    Using FIND in a form

I have the options in Access set to General Search so my cursor can be in any field and I will be able to find the requested record. However the search fails. If I click on the correct field and change the Look in: box to that particular field instead of the form name I can find the record. I...

Advanced Internet Options - where stored

I am trying to figure out where the advanced option "empty temporary files folder when browser is closed" is stored. I see an entry that looks like a good candidate in the registry but when I change it in IE, then look in the registry nothing is changing. I am trying to add this to a...

    Lookup fields

What I would like to do on a form is for the user to pick a value from a dropdown list and then another lookup field on that form would only have values pertaining to the first choice. In other words a field for state -- the user picks New York and then for city, they only get the choices for...

    Disable browsing the network

I have a Win2K professional workstation for the public in a library. The user is logging into the local computer, but also has a domain login in order to use some shared folders on an NT server and networked printers. I am using local group policy to secure the workstation and have been...

Using data from one table to populate another

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but it still changes if I change the price. It seems like I need to lookup the price in TPRoducts and then place it is a field that then is left alone but I can't figure out how to do that. Thanks for the idea. Jane

Using data from one table to populate another

Thanks for the tip. However I tried it and it didn't work. From what I read in "Help" cascading updates has to do with changing primary key values. In this case the price is changing which is not a primary key. Jane

Using data from one table to populate another

I created this long ago so I might have done it differently now. The TProduct table's key is the ProductID. TItems table used ProductID and PO_Num for the primary key. They are related by Product ID. Jane
