    Remote Desktop and user profile

To clarify my need for remote desktop is that I have an application that is terribly slow over a VPN connection. My only option is RDP. Now, when the person logs on using remote desktop, obviously the profile is empty. My question is can I move his/hers profile (from his/her laptop) to create...

    Remote Desktop and user profile

Not sure where to start. I'd like for several users to use RDP. When logged onto server I'd like them to have access to pretty much the same as they would on the local. I am looking at roaming profile but not sure, do I copy them to the server? greatly appreciate any help.

    router decision

Burt, Thanks for your reply. My concern is I am doing Nat inside the main office. Can I do Nat on the new office as well? How would the routing work? I can't do VPN. I have a few databases that would not work well. So my option would be point to point. Thanks

    router decision

I am opening a new office. Currently I have a 850 series. I'd like to do point to point between the two and would like some router advice. Only one office will access internet. Which one would do what I need with least cost? Thanks in advance.

    Preventing wireless routers/APs

PPettit, I think you misunderstood about the Mac address. In the router you add the mac address of the device you want to have access. However, this is not even close to a good solution. You can change the mac address. (hope this is what you are refearing.) There are utilities to change a...

    SBS 2003 - Event ID 1013

Not possible. I am using dell open manager install. It is not possible to mix the two. As for the finishing the install, the server has been running for the past week fine. In fact I’ve placed another post asking DFS related questions. After a week these events started to pop out. The server...

    SBS 2003 - Event ID 1013

I've got already a domain controller SBS. I've recently installed a secondary server dedicated as a fileserver. I am getting event ID 1013 saying that I have to run this as a DC. I don't need another DC. Why is this happening? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    File Replication help

I was going to use something else to replicate data between two server but might as well use FSD. However, not quite understanding. I as expecting a way to specify the location on my local server (where to replicate) i.e. \\server1\junk replicate to \\server2\junk. However, in server2 I'd...

Moving data to a different partition

ShackDaddy, Thanks for your info. didn't think it would be that easy. It was truly a pain as I recall in 5.5. Thanks

Moving data to a different partition

I've moved data on a 5.5 exchange before but don't know 2003 well (I've said to myself that I will never do it again. Took an entire weekend) . I am running out of space and need to move the database to the same server but on a different partition. I would greatly appreciate any docs. I am...

    Cisco 1131AG problem

I am having a hard time with these units. If one is installed everything works fine. If I add any more, and set them in a roaming configuration, both will not work or work intermitenltly. Channels are different and can't use "use the least congested channel" I am setting them roaming with the...

Dell poweredge 2650 and PCI cards

I've got both. I've got a diamond sound card and I know for a fact it is standard PCI. When installed, I had to bed the bottom piece (if you look streight at the connector on the side, the bottom will hit the board.) and it does not connect to any of the first slot connection (only the...

Dell poweredge 2650 and PCI cards

I am in need of installing a PCI card in this server. The PCI card I have is about 3/4" away from the back plate. Not sure why. My problem is that when any PCI cards are installed the server doesn't power up. I've looked in the bios and other then 3 available PCI slots, nothing is needed...

    dealing with slowness

Thanks to everyone. I've upgraded almost the entire network to cisco 2950 switches, cisco 851 router, did a netflow check on traffic, looked everywhere on the server side. Came to find out, it was steering at me the entire time, dumb ass, DNS. Failed to configure the router to point to...

    dealing with slowness

technome, thanks for your info. I would love to setup terminal services. But I though 2003 only provides 2 connection. I wouldn't go to Citrix route. Too expensive but interested in terminal services. Can you give me some more info? Thanks

    VPN routing issue

Brianinms, Thanks for your post and info. I've had that before and it didn't work. I've placed the ACL back but still doesn't work. I think there is routing issues. If I do a traceroute, I can't even get out of that subnet. i.e if I do a traceroute to 192.168.0.1, I get *. Thanks again.
