    I would have a close look at the route tables in your routers.  I would want to know what happens to traffic bound for the server IP address.  The tracert command may be helpful.  I have seen messages time out because they were just passed around from router to router.

    What command are you using to do the restart?  If you are using the shutdown command that comes with the Resource Kit, then its /Y.

    TCP/IP on Host System 5.0.2

    I would like add to a network adapter to an existing SCO OpenServer Host System 5.0.2 so that I may use some existing PCs as terminals.  I can't justify the $700 cost of upgrading to Enterprise just to get TCP/IP.  Are there any alternatives?
