    How do you unbind and rebind the tcp/ip protocol from the ethernet card?

    when should I use the netsh command?

    I have windows xp and I know I can't uninstall tcp/ip. I was told to use the netsh command to reset the tcp/ip stack if I troubleshoot all the cord connections and I'm still still getting 169.x.x.x ip address. Is that correct?
