windows programs on linux
As far as I can see the problem with VMWare is that it cannot emulate any real hardware issues. i.e. UPS serial port monitoring. Cannot be done in VMWare. I have had no experience with Win4Lin but I shall try it on the same basis. Jant- jant

Adaptec 2940lUW compatibility
What is it that you're trying to do? I have had trouble with the Ultra-wide second bus 78xx Adaptec chip with things like Backup Exec and a DTL device. This happened in combination with a DELL 2300 Poweredge fileserver with dual redundance. Look closely at your 78xx chipset! Cheers Jant- jant

Iomega Zip drive and NT=problems...
The simplest solution is to add the user variable parameter 'lastdrive=z' to the NT system properties. It is an old dos parameter but it works well with NT ws/svr. What it does is allow the system to allocate more drive letters instead of imposing D: as the last drive Cheers jant- jant
