    I was able to successfully delete the file in safe mode. I suspect it was from a file sharing system or a disgruntled ex-employee. The doug knox site has some good info. Thanks guys

    biglebowski- I have symantec(current) along with Spybot,adaware,spy subtracter, and hijack this. I don't currently use a firewall because zone alarm and black ice tend to jack with my POP3 and the jetico doesn't let anything in even on the minimum settings. Any suggestions?

    You won't get logoff options until you get logged on. Try logging on as the administrator to the local machine and set up the network properties. How do I accomplish this. Upon restart, the machine goes directly to the username and password box. Is there a button I can hold when rebooting...

    I am unable to change the username at all. I have tried a different CAT5 as well as another modem. It automatically comes up with a username and password box, but I am unable to get any logoff options. If I click "options" I get standby, restart, shutdown, and hibernate.

    Dude- Make your actions viewable and then click all the + signs until you find the text field or the actual text itself. (It might be layered), then double click on that, or right click(I think) and edit it and then you can manipulate the text as needed
