    saving as .ai "unknown error message"

    Hello I use CS2 and I have a problem. When I try to save a file as a .ai I receive an error message "unknown error". I can save in .eps / I tried deleting the Aiprefs file with adobe Illustrator closed but it did not resolve the problem. This problem happens with or without fonts.

    Well thanks for two good answers: Both correct. By having "use precise cursors" checked the x became the default and the Cap Lock changed it. So putting Cap lock "on" fixed it. But then when I unchecked it Cap Lock off did the trick. But you know all this already. Anyway thanks for helping with...

    My pen tool shows up as an X instead of an Icon?

    Help. My tool box is behaving badly. The pen and the pencil Icons do not show correct. They work fine but the icon is an X not the picture of the tip or the pen. I tried restarting, didn't help
