    Can't connect via Easy View

Well, yes I realize that. But what's wrong with asking a forum full of CR experts if they have any ideas. Isn't there a chance it has nothing to do with Easy View and instead the problem lies in the ODBC configuration? I mean it's not like I asked for tech support on Adobe Photoshop or some...

    Can't connect via Easy View

My reports run fine within CR10. We purchased Easy View for the staff who only need to run/export. A few weeks ago I had the viewer installed on their machine and the reports ran fine using ODBC for Oracle. Now none of us can connect from Easy View. We try to run the reports, put in our...

Need quick help with date formula

I need a formula to convert "20070131" coming through the database as a number to date format -- 01/31/2007. I can't change the data type for the field on the database so how can I convert it in my CR? Thanks!

    Reports Using MS Access

No I do not have it installed because I am not part of the call center group. I was just asked to help with some of their custom reports because I know Crystal Reports. Unfortunately, our IT department is undergoing some big changes and there is nobody left in the telecom group who has a clue...

Writing a formula with multiple conditions

By the way, I meant to thank the responders to my initial post. As I said, I'm pretty much a beginner and did not realize that you combine your conditions with "and" before the "then" statement. I know....duh! Thanks again.

    Reports Using MS Access

I'm going to show my Symposium ignorance but maybe someone can chime in and get me started in the right direction. I have a one page document left by the guy who did this stuff before. On the top he has: SCCS Login: XXXXXXX Password: xxxxxxx CLAN IP Address: 10.129.xx.xx ELAN IP Address...

    Reports Using MS Access

Well, I am a few days away from starting this project but was trying to gather as much 'how to' information as I could. I am fairly decent at Crystal Reports but know next to nothing about Symposium. The guy who did reporting for our call center left on,,,,shall we say,,,short notice...

    Reports Using MS Access

Not sure if you're still watching this thread but did you ever figure it out? I've been asked to do some custom reports for our call center as well and can't figure out how to connect to the database and the tables I need.

Writing a formula with multiple conditions

I am pretty much a beginner a writing formulas. For my crystal report, I need to write a formula that tests multiple conditions and selects the right {tabe.field} based on the test. What is the basic syntax for something like --> If A and B then X else if A and C then Y etc.

    Please help with conditional formulas!

Thank you very much for responding. I changed the links to left outer joins but not sure how to implement your advice on the rates formula. Where do I insert your suggested additions to my existing code? Any chance you could provide a little more help? Thanks!! //retrieving rates for clubs...

    Please help with conditional formulas!

Ok, I'm not sure where to start. Relatively new to CR and programming so please be gentle. [smile] I am designing a report that details tee time reservations. Data is pulled from multiple tables with the main database being Oracle (ODBC). I'm trying to retrieve a price from one of 2 Access...

Pulling a specific value from another table/database

Thanks for your help. You were correct in that I was overcomplicating the table design. Now I'm in need of formula help so off to that board....

Pulling a specific value from another table/database

Let's see if I can improve my question some. I'm starting to wonder if the Access table will accomplish what I thought so I may need to go in a diffrent direction all together. The main database with all the reservation data (except for the green fees) is the Oracle. The relevant fields are...

Pulling a specific value from another table/database

I am fairly new to Crystal Reports. I work for a call center specializing in leisure/hospitality reservations, the bulk of which are golf tee times. My task is to create a report showing a line by line detail of our bookings for a given period including the applicable green fee based on the...

Record selection - Excluding rows w/ duplicate data in multiple fields

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I think that's going to do the trick.

Record selection - Excluding rows w/ duplicate data in multiple fields

Thank you very much for the tips. That gets me REALLY close to the desired results. The only issue I've noticed with your steps is that if the customer scheduled more than one of the same reservation types, only one is captured and the other(s) are surpressed. I think my example was...

Record selection - Excluding rows w/ duplicate data in multiple fields

Greetings, CR gurus! We have CR 10 connected via ODBC to an Oracle db. I'm getting a little over my head and desperately need some help with record selection. Our database tracks travel & leisure reservations booked for our customers. I am tasked with generating a list to be run weekly...
