I was on the forum not long ago with this very same issue. Thanks to all who responded. I still have the original problem where as I cant log into any of my 3 QSDI ports using 9 pin to 9 pin RS232 Nortel spec pinout.
I am using XP (Proffessional) on the PC`s in question, all 5 pC`s used...
Yeah I agree about the power problem effecting the cables but it did effect the system monitor. Had to replace the system monitor but that was straight forward enough.
It is probable that it is just coincidential, I got told from a guy who works here that the Pin out is a straight through...
the 5 PC`s are basically maintenance terminals that I teach the students with. This fault occured after a major Power outage that went wrong (drastically). I had a problem with the system monitor but cleared that down its fine now.

My major problem is really not being able to get the PC to speak to the PABX.
I have used new QSDI cards, Sys Monitor cards and still getting the same issue. I do feel that it is a cable issue, but Im no expert and hence put it to the guys...
