All other clients in a group backs up fine except for one particular client. This client takes forever and by the time the next backup cycle tries to kick in, it fails since another backup is already running. I can't see anything in the daemon log that is causing this issue. I also notice the...
I'm trying to install compat-libf2c-34-3.4.6-4.x86_64 package running Oracle Enterprise Linux v5.0. If I run the following command:
# up2date --show-available | grep compat-libf2c-34-3.4.6-4.x86_64
I see the following result:
compat-libf2c-34-3.4.6-4.x86_64
This tells me that the above...
For some reasons, one of the Networker client gives me a different ip address when pinging the hostname from the Networker server. I checked the host and LMHOSTS file and did not see any entry. If I run nslookup of the host, it gives me the correct ip address. I also issued the command...
I ran into this strange issue where when I try to search for a particular file, it does not search the entire directories and subdirectories. Is there something wrong with the filesystem? Thanks.
We had an incident were some of the folders were moved accidentally. I was told that I can find out using nwrecover on when these folders were moved. How do I go about doing so? We run incrementals everyday and I did a search on one particular folder using the nwrecover gui but it couldn't...
Thanks for the reply. How would you enable auditing on particular folders? I guess there's no such thing and enabling auditing in general to monitor all folders.
We have an incident where some of the folders in our file server were moved accidentally. Is there a way to find out when these folders were moved? I don't see it in the Event Logs. Thanks.
I added root@client_name in the remote access list but got the same error. After googling around, I found that the short name of the client in /etc/hosts needs to be removed. I did that and everything is working now. Thanks for your help.
After making the changes you've suggested, now I'm getting the below error:
* client_name:/ save: File index error: permission denied, `root' on `client_name' must have remote access privilege to client Networker_Server
I'm using Networker 7.2.2 and I'm not able to backup one particular client. Below is the error:
SYSTEM error: client `localhost.localdomain' is not properly configured
or `localhost.localdomain' is not in the aliases list for client `client_name'
I know that name resolution is working fine...
Thanks so much for your response. Does the output also means that all the backups were successful on a particular client? How do I know if the backup fails on this report?
I'm using Networker 7.2.2 server and I need to find a way to generate a report that will show me the successful savesets lets say for one month of a particular client. Do I use mminfo for that? If so, what's the command? I am already getting the e-mail notification. But I would like to be...
To exclude /sbin directory, I created a directive. Somehow, it's still trying to backup the /sbin directory. Below is what I added:
<< / >>
+skip: /sbin
<< /sbin >>
+skip: *
Is this correct?
I just wanted to add this additional information. I checked the log and it seems like it chokes on /sbin directory. Below is the log:
save: `/sbin/audispd' final f->offset = 3080.
save: lg_fstat(): Calling fstat64().
save: off 38057007608 len 3244 file #10938 /sbin/audispd
save: lg_lstat()...
I also suspect some kind of timeout issue. I'm not sure if it's a permission problem since the backup works 1 out 10 times of the root directory. Like I mentioned earlier, /sys and /backup gets backed up successfully except for /
I'm not sure if this has something to do with the network since...
