Here's something interesting I just found out (I should have made it clear that this is a situation I've inherited).
None of the 3 lines are part of a hunt from the telco point of view. But somehow when they come into the switch there appears to be a hunt going on.. So now I'm even more...

My apologies .. I should have mentioned that I was trying to connect using the internal modem of my laptop.. I gave in found an external US Robotics, configured the default dip switches and managed to get connected properly.
