i went to pc1 and delete a1(admin) including the files however the folder remains..
then i recreate the same user account a1 with admin rights and same password...saw a folder got created in document and settings called a1.pc1(where pc1 is the computer name)
didnt uninstall or disable zonealarm...

i have tried giving "Everyone" the full control access to all the shares..but still cannot access the shares..
all the user names in both the computer has the same passwords..
so now it looks like this

did lightning strike your mains/power line of your house?
or you are connected to the internet from lan in PC to a modem?
if the lightning strike the latter then the power supply could be OK..i have lightning strike which fried the motherboard as well as the router..and I only need to change...
as far as i know there might be a problem during POST. The information is not shown because the boot logo (if it is called that way) is enabled. So you have to go to the BIOS and tried to find a setting similar to that and disabled it. Then you will be able to see the POST messages which will...

OS = Windows xp pro sp2 and sp3
Simple file sharing = disabled
router = linksys wireless router wrt54g
firewall = zonealarm free
disabled guest account
