Actually, the phantom DN approach works great, internally... When I call in from the outside and try the extension however, all I hear is silence.
Are there any settings to check regarding making this work from the outside calling in?
Another possibility is that this is an issue with our...
Did some more digging, and tried a few things. Added a phantom loop in ld 97, and attempted to add a phantom dn in ld 10:

Is there a way to forward callers to an external 800 number when a certain extension is dialed?
I've looked through a bunch of threads on these forums, but haven't had any luck so far... thanks for any help!
We currently have an MCR group on extension 445:

I have attempted to reconnect the cable, but no difference. Will order a replacement.
Also tried running a remote loopback test in LD 135, which failed, does this mean it is definitely the fiber?

We have been getting a lot of these lately:

BSD EXPANSION CABINET 1 - PWR OK BATT OK
Looking through some threads on these forums, it appears the most likely fix would be to replace the fiber optic cable between the two cabinets. When turning off the...
So I did some more digging... using our existing VT520 terminal, running:
ld 37
stat
I get the following output:
TTY 0 : ENBL DES: MAINTENANCE-2400 (currently connected through this one through the VT520)
TTY 1 : ENBL DES: MODEM
TTY 4 : ENBL DES: INFORTEX-1200
TTY 8 : DSBL
PRT 2 : ENBL...
I see, they actually appear to be set at 1200 baud, when I run LD 22 => PRT => ADAN.
Will keep trying different settings @ 1200 baud with minicom / hyperterminal. Thanks!
By the way, I noticed there's an AUX port on the back of the PBX (looks like a DB9) right below the SDI port which feeds the...
Ah, ok we've connected the USB2Serial cable to a modem inverter, then that to one of the 3 cables of the octopus cable... I'm not sure whether our PBX has TTY ports also.
So, we purchased one of these, since the PC that has actual serial ports seemed to have died on me:
https://www.amazon.com/TRIPP-Serial-Adapter-5-Feet-U209-005-DB25/dp/B00TWFKEFA/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1465918583&sr=1-5
Hooked up my Ubuntu PC to the PBX, I installed minicom and attempted...
Thanks FirebirdScrambler, I will give this a try!
One more question though, I don't actually see any way to connect an ethernet cable to the PBX. Is there some kind of adapter to "convert" one of the TTY ports to something that can interface with ethernet?
Forgot to mention: rebooting the InnLine Express VM desktop never seems to fix this issue... after a successful reboot the ports still remain idle. Things just start working again randomly a couple of hours later [sadeyes]
Thanks for the responses, we will go the PC + serial route.
We used to have Meridian Mail (not 100% sure why we stopped using it, but I think the card or piece of hardware in the PBX handling mermail broke).
The VM / auto attendant we purchased is just this desktop computer running windows...
