Thank you all- that is very helpful. I hadn't thought of asking about organization structure. The company is a large bank. How do I decide what company-specific questions to ask, as opposed to just general questions?
I have code that creates a chart in Excel and moves that chart to a certain sheet. This code works in my home Access 2003 (and Excel 2003), but not from Access 2000 (and Excel 2000), which I need it to work from. It just creates and leaves it in the existing "Sheet1." I want it to be in the...
Yes they do. It is strange. They are now getting an error stating "Cannot find the file 'G:\Path\DatabaseName.mdb' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.
Also, it seems to work when they copy the file to their local...
There is one computer, that when opening an Access database from within Access, gets the message "this program is not responding". Then when Access is closed, and they try to open the file from the Windows browser, they get a message saying that the database is open in read-only mode. But this...
I have a subform of continuous forms with conditional formatting that works fine on one computer, but on another computer the conditional formatting makes the text constantly appear and disappear (blinking) making it hard to read. What could the reason be? It's only with continuous forms.
When 2 or 3 people or on, Access is at least twice as slow. Is this normal? And if it's not, how do I find out why it's so slow?
FYI, in advanced options, the following options are set:
Default open mode: shared
Default record-locking: no locks
Open databases using record-level locking: TRUE...
Is there a way to store images in the database, but also have them show up in data access pages in addition to forms? I know I can store links to images, but they exist outside the database. I have tried the OLE object datatype, but Access won't let me put that in a data access page. Is there a...
I have a form with unbound combo boxes. These boxes will not drop down, unless the users clicks the very bottom tip of the arrow. This is unlike all of my other forms with combo boxes, where if you click on any part of the arrow, including the middle or top of it, the box will still drop down...
I have some data access pages on a shared network drive that access an Access database on that same drive. On some computers, the pages load lightning quick (less than a second). However, there are other computers that take many magnitudes longer. For instance, loading a page with just one combo...
I have some data access pages where no data is being entered into the database, just some combo boxes linked to queries. However, these pages create a lockfile and slow down the database. Is there a way to have the combo boxes fill with data and then disconnect?
The number of products is not known until run-time, and when I include an unbound textbox on the form, when the user enters in a value, that value appears in ALL the other unbound textboxes in a continuous form. That is not what I want. I want each textbox to be able to contain unique values.
I am working with an inventory system, and would like to have a form that shows all products and their current inventory levels, and next to each of them have a textbox for entering in new inventory levels. After the user enters in all their new inventory levels, there would need to be...
The Data Access Pages work on some computers, but not others. The DAPs were made with Access 2000. Internet Explorer is used in all cases. What are some possible reasons that no data loads?
