Our DNS have two names configured for each file server .
I.e. FOF-ESFE01 and FOF-FSES01
one is the actual neetbios name and the other a resolver in DNS
depending on the machine, the "resolver" when called (ie start - run - \\FOF-FSES01)...

We have several 2003 and 2008 DC's.
We have one DC at a remote site that is Read Only.
Currently when changes are made to scripts in sysvol on a r/w DC they dont replicate to the Read Only DC.
New folders and files being moved DO get replicated but not file changes.
Could anyone suggest...
i notice that if i dont set the variables for wshshell run (ie 0,true) it outputs to another command window.
in this window i can see the correct result.
but when i set to 0,true is does not display in this main window.
when running a "sc sdshow spooler" from the command line i get SDDL for spooler service.
so why doesnt below work?

i have created an ou in users/computer called ZZZTest.
so why cant i see this OU in group policy?

Thing is, in GPMC.msc, where are the OU's? Apart from the domain root.

-a DELL Powerconnect 6248P

Occasionally during periods of high usage the windows 2003 shares to our san stop working.
the result is that the
-user loses connection
-user gets error message "not accessible - admin rights required"
-mapped drives cant re-connect or
-user gets a blank window when opening the...

as it turns out my colleague had recently install sophos pure message which was recording 72000 failed events per hour.
so that certainly didnt help!!
we will certainly be looking at splitting our databases down to reduce size.
ok perhaps i should clarify.
we have two databases with different store limits
one is 181gb
the other is 150gb.
to save me reading a large white paper whats the max size for best practice?
