Yes - it was rebooted several times during the patching.
The backups are complete copies of the original hard drive, made once the system was programmed properly and then put in a cool, dry place. I think the BRU is just about useless in these kind of situations.
Talk about a pain: i forgot...
Yes - I saw that, but could not find a complete list for the order of operations, so I waded through all the 'readme' files and made sure the prerequisites went in first...do you happen to have a complete list in order for patching? Here's what I have for patches:
BCM_370.033_VP.41.001...
Thanks - should have mentioned that as well - it was working before...
Before the BFT went defective and nuked the hard-drive. Swapped the MSC onto a new BFT, and then inserted fresh hard-drive.
Had to start with fresh image of 3.7, and most - but not all - of the programming restored from...
Hello Everyone, and Happy New Year!
I've run into an issue that has me scratching my head - perhaps someone might have a suggestion?
We have Nortel T- and M-series phones on a BCM400/3.7 It has a SIP trunk over private network to Asterisk 20.5.0 box, with SIP extensions and a Digium Analog...
Hey Curly, yes, should have pinpointed the problem properly: "trying to upgrade to latest UNISTIM release and it won't load? Here's a workaround..."
LOL
I tried to upgrade firmware on some 1140s to the latest UNIStim release, and they refused to load it... with [FW] Auth. Failed (Starting...
Greetings!
I was looking for a solution to upgrade the firmware on a pair of 1140e beyond 0625C98, and found a closed thread that ended with the question: did anyone try to go to SIP and back to upgrade the phone?
Originally I tried loading C99, C9A, C9B, C9C, C9D, in succession got: [FW]...
As a workaround for now, you can always setup a Virtual Machine.
I have a virtual machine running Windows 98SE to access old BCMs... Not sure if you have to go back that far for Element Manager, but i would avoid Windows XP in a Virtual machine, it just doesn't seem to work right.

Good day everyone...and this is for BCM400 tinkerers...specifically BCM400 3.7 running NT4.0 embedded:
I've managed to write a little bit of .wml to display messages on 1140 phones, a rudimentary directory, and background images but...
Has anyone else done any WML programming for 1100-type...
Hello there...the BCM (3.7) and MICS (6.0+) will do 2-digit DNs (have seen this exact scenario,) however the hunt groups will not work unless you set 3 or more digit DNs.

These are awesome Guides: very clear and concise - thanks FirebirdScrambler for another Essential for the Toolbox!
Now that BCM life has ended - is there anything to stop new software/reverse-engineering being applied to it?

Yeah - so I am starting to find out... I've got a 20 year old piece of hardware for a system way past end-of-life, and its guts are still top-secret!
Was wondering if anyone on here had managed to score some, or would be willing to share, privately even...

I asked about the sets, because I noticed a peculiarity when I was experimenting with a BCM400 R3.7: VOIP calls from one kind of set to another (ie 7316->1140, Avaya 9611G-> i2050, etc) would have no audio unless you put the call on hold briefly and then picked it up again. I assumed that lack...
