I am also looking for a solution.
IMHO using a user name/pwd solution is primitive, as user names/pwds can be easily distributed over the net..and people can use them to download premium content from sites (i.e analyst reports/news sites that require a logon for PAID subsrcribers.)

Content is in all kinds of formats like XML, ASP, PHP, CSS, JPG, GIF etc.
I want TOTAL control. Meaning that I can determine how long the interested party can preview the stuff before he/she buys it.
