I don't know about your modem model but for the DSL-300 you do it through the Configuration Utility (available on dlink's site or the modem's CD). In the DSL-300 you can change VPI/VCI but the framing is greyed out (shows SSL/SNAP). New firmware and/or configuration utility should take care of that.
