    no write protect switch on this one. did a search and it says this model doesn't which is fine with me. http://arstechnica.com/reviews/hardware/flash.ars/3 so i guess it's a lost cause and just send in for a new one really appreciated the help guys...unless you guys can think of anything else...

    tried it but it says that the "the device media is write-protected". tried FAT, FAT32, and NTFS. any ideas BC? thanks.........

    that's HP and i got a sandisk mini cruzer. as well, at the end of my post i stated the tech at sandisk tried to help me format it and it didnt work...thanks.4.thereply though.appreciated.it.......

Last night at work, showed a buddy and thought id try it on the comp there, as i was taking it out he said no, click on the task manager to remove it properly i said naaa it's fine. It was.
